Adult Gymnastics in Northern KY

Yes I have not posted in a very long time and now I am using it as advertising. Oh well!
I have been doing a Google search every so often on adult gymnastics and every time I seem to find a new person looking for an adult gymnastics class in this area, so I am hoping that any search will bring you here!
Five Star Gymnastics and Cheerleading in Erlanger, KY has an actual adult gymnastics class. We have class on Monday and Thursday from 8-9:15. Most only come one day but a few of us are devoted and come twice. We have all different levels and a "coach" that is exceptional at working with and spotting adults. Unlike some other gyms we actually do all the events. We have had some guys in the past, but right now we are all girls.
First class is free, so if you are a "retired" gymnast or just someone who wants to get some great exercise, give us a try!
Just go to www.fivestar-gymnastics.com and send them an email letting them know that you are interested in adult gymnastics. They will get the message to Jamie (our coach)and he will give you a call. Or you can call the gym at (859)647-0660.

Quick Update!

Well, I still don't have a partner, which is causing me to have to work more overtime than I would like, but at least it is some extra money! The store is a much better place to work at now, so I guess I won't complain too much.
Several things have happened in the last few months, so I will post a few pics!

In May we went on a cruise!


June was Cameron's 3rd birthday. Oops...I didn't take my camera...We bought him a fish tank! He lost 2 of the 3 fish a few weeks ago :( but I got him a few more the other day :)
June was also Phillip's birthday...no pics of that either, but here is one of him and his new motorcycle!



July was my birthday...no pic...but here is one of the blue diamond that Phillip got me on the cruise for my birthday/10 year anniversary(which is later this year). I wish I could say that I get to wear it all the time, but 2 of the diamonds fell out and it is off getting repaired. I hope to get it back in 8 to 12 weeks......



Bailey also had his 3rd birthday in July!!!



This month my sister had her birthday, I don't have a picture of that either, but that is because I was at Martha and Chris's wedding!









And just last weekend Carson turned 1 year old!



I am sure I have left out all kinds of interesting stuff, but our air conditioner has decided to stop working while Phillip is out of town so the added heat of the computer on my lap is just too much! Oh! One more thing! We finally sold the house in Martinsburg! It was one problem after another and the buyer was such a pain that I am hoping the roof will develop a great big hole and all of her belongings will be destroyed in a flood! But really, we are very glad to be rid of it!

It's About Time!

My work environment changed drastically this last Thursday. My partner no longer works for my company!!! My standard answer is "I don't know what happened, I just know she no longer works here". Anyway, I am now the PIC (pharmacist in charge for all you non-pharmacy people). It will be nice to actually get manager pay for doing all the manager work instead of doing it just so that it would get done.
I am thrilled but tired. Because I now have no partner I am working extra, but it won't last forever, and it is sooooooooo worth it.

Just An Update

I have not posted in awhile and I had a few pics to share, so I just thought I would do a quick update!

Everyone is doing well except for some allergies. Phillip is just getting over his "attack" and it looks like I am just starting. It is annoying, but it won't stop me from going to gymnastics tonight! Yes, gymnastics! For everyone who does not yet know I am back in the gym training for 2012. Well, not quite, but we do work pretty hard.

I had taken one adult gymnastics class when we were in Martinsburg and there were several women there, but most were there to gain flexibility or just to do something different. They struggled with cartwheels, handsprings were a very far off goal, and they whined when we did any event other than floor. Our instructor was very nice, but she was not really able to spot adults, so while it was fun I really didn't get the challenges that I was looking for.

A few months ago I sent an email to a local gym asking if they had an adult class and was shocked to hear that they did. I am thrilled to say that it is everything I have been looking for! Jamie, our instructor (I said the word coach in front of Phillip one day and he laughed and told me I was stupid...) is great and I completely trust his spotting and coaching ability. I have actually even learned a new dismount on bars that as a competitive gymnast I never even attempted. We have lots of fun, and they have actually had to turn people away because the class is full. What can I say, I would rather be doing this instead of running on a treadmill.

Phillip and I have also started to go wall climbing about once a week. I don't really see much of a future in that for me, but he loves it and it is good quality time to spend together so I guess I will continue to tempt fate and hope that Phillip doesn't decide to collect on my life insurance policy as he is lowering me to the ground....

Other than that we have just been enjoying life with our doggies, family, and friends!

His name is Rocky, he is about a year old, and I think he is more hyper than Bailey ever was! But, he came from a family who did not have time to pay attention to him and I think he will settle down some when he realizes that this is his new (better) home and not just some fabulous vacation!

Quick Trip To Chicago

Phillip had to make a short trip to Chicago and he wanted some company, so off we went! I didn't get to see much but since I only had a few days off before I have to start my 5 long days at work it was nice to sit in the hotel room while he had to work. We did go to the Sears Tower and also got to go to a very nice restaurant downtown with the owner of the company Phillip is working with and his wife.
I think the view at night is better than during the day, but it sure makes taking pictures hard.

I really want to go back in the summer so we can see more and not worry about freezing!

V-day Rocks!

Flowers, a card, some chocolate that I would feel guilty eating, a dinner out.....that is what I was expecting for Valentine's Day. But, this is the second year in a row that Phillip has totally surprised me. When I walked in the first thing I saw was not flowers but an fruit bouquet. Better then flowers! We can both enjoy the fruit (half of it chocolate covered!) and I don't have to clean up the mess when the flowers dry up! Then I saw the jewelry bag........I had not asked for anything so I was a little worried.

Of course I LOVE them, but the best part was that he said he had been waiting for years to get them for me. How sweet!

On another subject, earlier this month Sadie celebrated her 7th birthday. I guess I have made enough doggy cakes for her to recognize the smell because as soon as I start mixing the ingredients she gets excited and then she stands by the oven while it is baking. Somehow beyond a doubt she knows that it is hers!

9 Years and Counting!

So I am a little late with this post, but better late than never. As of December 11th, Phillip and I have been married 9 years!

The week before our anniversary Phillip had a trip planned for us, but would not tell me where we were going. I pretty much knew that it was going to be a trip to the Smokies but what I didn't know was that wasn't the real surprise! We got to the cabin after making our now traditional stop at the Apple Barn to eat lunch, I took a conference call, jumped in the hot tub (which made me miss our hot tub that is sitting at our empty house in Mburg), and then started getting ready to go out to eat. We were both on our computers waiting on the other to decide what we wanted to eat when we heard a car drive by. A minute later there was a knock at the door. I said something like who in the world could that be and Phillip said "I don't know come here." I just thought that Phillip wanted me to go to the door with him because he was scared to go to the door by himself...this would not be out of character for him....he actually makes the dogs walk up the stairs after him at night because he is afraid the boogie man will grab his ankles. Anyway, he opened the door and there stood Martha and Chris! I was in shock for like 5 minutes! Phillip had planned the trip around them so that they could spend the 3 nights with us!

We had a great time, but then I had Martha withdrawal and Phillip had Chris withdrawal. I think they need to move closer!

Completion of a Life Dream!

By no means would I like to make my exit tomorrow, but if I does happen at least I can say that I have finally seen New Kids On The Block live in concert!


I have never seen so many people in one place in my life! I can't believe how excited I got as the lights went down and I was waiting for my first glimpse of the guys that ruled my world for a very large chunk of my adolescent life. I have no idea when I have ever had so much fun or screamed so loud! They were amazing and the crowd was amazing! Words can't explain, but I can't wait to get another opportunity to see them again, and I have already informed Phillip that I will be spending what ever it costs to get my sister and I as close to the front as possible!!!!

SOOOO glad you guys are back!

Ready For Fall!

I don't really have anything interesting to report, just thought I would share some pictures of the first use of our fire pit! We had plenty of sticks to burn after the massive winds that we had about a week ago.

With Apologies to the Beach Volleyball Community

Phillip would like to apologize to all those fans who hated to see the May-Treanor/Walsh dynasty end. He has decided that their loss today was due to the fact that he was in the stands. Why else would their streak end?

Anyway we had a good time! It was hot, but there was a nice breeze so it was not horrible. Plus they constantly had people walking around with water sprayers to keep everyone cool. Good for everyone who didn't have to worry about a camera in their lap!

Long Overdue Update

So much has happened since my last entry! It seems like every time I thought about posting I decided to wait because something else was coming up soon that I might as well wait for, or I needed to download pics from my camera and it was upstairs which is much further than it use to be, or I was just to tired/lazy!

Well I will do my best to summarize the last few months...

I am now a pharmacist! I passed both my NAPLEX and law exam on the first tries. It was a huge relief for both myself and Phillip. I still have to remind myself that I don't have to study or do any homework ever again! That and of course the pay raise is nice!

I do miss school no matter how crazy that sounds. I was reading a pharmacy magazine on my lunch one day and turned the page to an article written by two of my professors. I immediately felt this intense sadness because I realized I was stuck in this horrible job (more on that in a minute) and wouldn't be seeing my friends anytime soon :(

Yes, my job sucks. I have great technicians and a wonderful intern, but my partner.........I can not begin to describe how horrible she is. My favorite is when she says other people need psychiatric help. I just can't believe she doesn't see how crazy she is! But it is not only her, many of our customers are huge problems. I have never seen so many CII scripts ( scripts like oxycontin and percocet for you non pharmacy people) in my entire pharmacy career. And they all want a certain manufacture for a certain price. And if you don't have it or tell them it is too soon to fill, you better find your earplugs fast because they love to express their unhappiness.

Enough of bad things! Onto good things!

My house-I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! We are slowly adding furniture, but it will be a long time before the house will be full, and we still haven't hung the first picture. I just enjoy the clean uncluttered look to much right now. It took awhile to get the fence up but Phillip did a great job picking it out and after some help from family got it put up in just two days. The dogs love it and of course we love not having to take them out on leashes all day!

Jocelyn's wedding- I was so excited to see my friends (except for Nancy couldn't come) for the weekend! I don't think Phillip really wanted to go at first, but he had a great time hanging out with everyone and has already asked when we are going back to see everyone.

Phillip's new car- Poor thing had to wait forever (not really) but he finally got to get his car (and I finally get to actually drive my Murano!) He decided on an Infiniti G37 Coupe. It is a KY blue color (not my choice...). He is like a little kid when he talks about it. It is so cute, he thinks everyone is looking at him when he drives by! It is a nice car, but come on, it's no Murano!

Baby Carson!- Sept 14th by sister calls and tells me that she is having contractions but they are not regular or that strong. Good news- it is the start of my 4 days off. Bad news- her husband Tony and Phillip are in Washington DC working and my parents are about 12 hours away helping my brother move. This leaves me..... Luckily my sister is a Weber! It was her first day back at school getting her classroom ready, attending meetings, and meeting her students and their parents during open house that evening, but she made it through the entire day and was still able to eat dinner with me when she came over to pick up her 2 year old from my house. It was about 12:30 am when she called me and told me our husbands were about and hour away, but she didn't think she could wait that long. I told her I would be right over even if it was right in the middle of the women's all-around of the Olympics!!!!! When I got there she was intent on sticking it out to wait on Tony to get home. They finally got home and packed and they were off to the hospital and I was on my way home with my nephew whose only concern at almost 2 in the morning was helping his Aunt Geegee (evidently that is my name, Phillip is PipPip!)make an egg..... After convincing him that we would make an egg in the morning he arranged his stuffed animals in the guest bed and went to sleep, for a little while that is, then he wanted his back rubbed, then he wanted his mommy, then he went to sleep. Then Tony called saying that as soon as they had gotten her checked in she was ready to go and Carson would be born within the hour. I knew at that time she had waited to long and had missed the opportunity to get her epidural that she so badly wanted! But she made it and actually said that she would take this labor over her first in which she had to be induced and pushed for HOURS! Carson was born at 3:20 AM, weighed 8 lbs 10oz, and was 20.5 inches long!

Moving Grandma- This event took place the day after Carson was born. The lucky participants were myself, my brother Eddie, my parents, and of course Grandma. It started off bad and didn't get any better. This was not my parents first trip to help her pack, but evidently their pleas for her to get rid of some stuff and start packing fell on deaf ears.....since she actually hears very little that is probably exactly what happened! It took all day to pack her up and move her from the little trailer she had lived in for more than 40 years but it did get done.
We moved her into her new apartment the next morning, set up furniture, and found things she needed right away, but we left her with her second bedroom full of boxes. My dad went back the next several days and was shocked to see the amount of progress she has made so far! I hope she will be very happy in her new little apartment. It is only 15 min from my parents but she still gets to live in her own area and hopefully meet new people, plus if she decides she doesn't like it she is going to have to find some other people to help her move!

I can't think of anything else at this moment, plus I am tired of typing!

Goodbye Timeclocks!

Today was (hopefully) the last day that I will ever have to punch a time clock! Starting June 1st I will be a Graduate Intern on salary!
Today will also be our last trip to Kobe! I am going to miss that food sooooooo much! I never get tired of it.
Our "official" closing date is Tuesday @4. I say official, but our underwriter has not yet gotten all the paper work finished. They called today and wanted me to set up a salary key. I had no idea what that was and neither did they. But several emails and 20 phone calls later I got the number. I don't even think that it will give them the information that they will need. They want to be able to confirm my graduate intern salary but I think it will only give them my current salary until Kmart changes it in the computer around June 1st. I have already told my sister that we may be bringing a moving truck to her house and moving in with them if something happens at the closing!
Let the packing begin!

In Limbo

I am trying to keep myself occupied by working a little and trying to study but all I really want to do it pack up this house and get into my new one!
I am driving Phillip crazy by asking daily if we have heard anything about our closing date. I think what is making me so nuts is that he doesn't seem to mind that we still don't have a set date or appointment. Our paper work says that we will close on the 27th or 28th. He seems to think that since it is in the paper work that everything will magically work out.
Also, Wells Fargo is still working on our paper work which makes me panic at the thought of them saying they changed their mind and won't approve the loan until I am at my full salary. Again, Phillip tells me he is not worried about it. I can't help it. There is just something in me that likes to know were I will be living in the next two weeks.
I also need to know when I can start packing! I don't want to start to early because where am I going to put all the boxes and what if I pack something and find out that I need it later? I guess I will just have to wait a little longer....

I have officially graduated from pharmacy school!

Years ago I use to write myself a letter at midnight on New Years Eve so that I could read it at the same time the next year. They were very silly letters just wishing myself a good new year and asking if I had accomplished some of the things I had set out to do. A few weeks ago when I was going through an old box I ran across one of those letters. I read it and was amazed at how much I have accomplished since that time. In the letter I asked myself things like had Phillip and I set a date for the wedding, did I have that little black lab puppy that I wanted so badly, and had I decided if I wanted to pursue pharmacy school yet? Well, Phillip and I will be married for 9 years in December, I now have two black labs which I love more than anything, and yes I decided that I would give pharmacy school a try.

It is so hard for me remember what it felt like to be the person that wrote that letter. I remember being afraid to tell the people closest to me that I wanted to apply to pharmacy school because I thought that they would laugh. I remember the amazement I felt when I actually started getting invitations for interviews. I remember after my interview at Shenandoah calling my parents and telling them that this is were I wanted to be. I remember calling my mother in tears when I got the email congratulating me on my acceptance to Shenandoah. I remember the first day of orientation wondering how I would ever make it past the first semester. I remember dreading the start of rotations and then actually enjoying them after I realizing that I had strengths that I never knew I had.

Now that it is all over and done, I will always remember the friends that I have made during my time at the BJDSOP. I will always remember that Phillip stuck with me no matter how hard it was to be so far from home. I will always remember Eli's speech at the hooding ceremony that made us all cry. I will always remember the look on my dad's face when he said "Congratulations Dr. Weber-Roe. " And I will always try to remember that I have strengths that I don't yet know about.

So here is a huge thanks to all of my family, friends, faculty, and coworkers who have been there for me during this roller coaster ride!

The Countdown.....

The big day is almost here! Only 3 days of VERY LONG reviews away then hooding and graduation! I did decide to skip the 4 hour law review that is taking place at this moment. I feel for all of my friend who a currently wishing they could drill a hole in their head (Nancy!). A few people convinced me that listening to her go over VA law would confuse me with KY law and we just can't have that.

I did do something productive with the time, I mowed the grass, and I am getting ready to start working on some calculations. That always puts me in a wonderful mood......
