Our New House

We made an offer on the house that we found and they excepted with only a few small changes. Good for us that they didn't realize we were willing to go up quite a bit more! Here is a picture of the front of the house.

Back On Land

Well, we are back in the USA and on dry land. Still waiting on my land legs to return....

The cruise was wonderful and in addition to a few souvenirs, I also brought back a few extra pounds from all the great food!

The only low part was when Phillip checked his email one day and found out that the sale of our house fell apart :( The woman had not done her homework and during the inspection she found out that the house was a double wide (we actually prefer the term manufactured home......) so she decided to back out. Phillip was so mad and it must have taken me three hours to remind him that we were in no worse situation then we were a week ago. The news was very depressing. I was so happy that we wouldn't have to worry about getting the dogs out of the house for showings or trying to find someone who would mow the grass after we moved, plus we would have a nice down payment for the house that we found.

Yes, we found a house! We carved out a few hours to look at houses before and after the cruise. There are tons of great houses for our price range and I am sure we could look for weeks, but we think that we may make an offer in the next few days. We both really love the house and are satisfied with the yard even if we did want something a little bigger, the only negative that really bothers us is that it is in a HOA. So we get to pay money every year so that some committee can tell us what fence we can and cannot put in our yard.

Anyway, I leave you with a picture of Phillip and I at the Mayan ruins of Tulum. Phillip hates this picture because the wind has blown his shirt up and makes him look really fat!

Who Said The Housing Market Is Down?

Well, unless something happens we have sold the house! They made an offer, we countered and they accepted! Only three weeks on the market! I don't think we could have asked for anything better.
Going to pack now....really.....well maybe after this movie is over, or in the morning.......

Ready For Vacation!

It's not that I haven't had anything to post about, I have just been lazy!

In the past few weeks we have shown the house several times and to several people more than once. I think that is a good sign even if I am not expecting miracles. So far we have had no negative comments which has surprised me. I really expected to hear that people thought the carpet should be replaced or they didn't like the paint in the guest bedroom. I think the only reason we haven't heard about the paint is because it works with the current decor. If the room was empty, people might wonder why we decided that pink was a wise decision.....

The dogs are fast asleep right now. I don't think they even care that it is almost dinner time! Martha and I took them to Harpers Ferry National Park for a hike while people were looking at the house. She was my lifesaver today! The other day when I had to take the dogs out of the house for a showing I was getting Bailey out of the car and hurt my back. He looks smaller than Sadie, but he is solid muscle and heavy! Anyway, there is no way I could have gotten the dogs in and out of the car without her today! I am going to miss my Martha so much when we move!!!!!!

I was able to get a cute pic of us!

Hopefully I will be able to move easier tomorrow since I have to pack for our cruise and I really need to mow the lawn and pull some weeds in the front of the house!

Sadie is now awake and is asking for dinner, so I should end this now and go take care of her majesty!
